As regular readers of this blog already know I am in the process of building a recording studio - in the hope that I can put out songs with much increased frequency in the future.
Thunder comes resounding out of the earth: The image of ENTHUSIASM. Thus the ancient kings made music in order to honor merit, and offered it with splendor to the Supreme Deity, inviting their ancestors to be present.
When, at the beginning of summer, thunder - electrical energy - comes rushing forth from the earth again, and the first thunderstorm refreshes nature, a prolonged state of tension is resolved. Joy and relief make themselves felt. So too, music has power to ease tension within the heart and to loosen the grip of obscure emotions. The enthusiasm of the heart expresses itself involuntarily in a burst of song, in dance and rhythmic movement of the body. From immemorial times the inspiring effect of the invisible sound that moves all hearts, and draws them together, has mystified mankind.
As I've said before, some songs come quickly. Others gestate. Others fight back, seeming as though they do not want to be written...or, at least, do not want to be written with the honesty they know they deserve.
A song always has a point of view. Poems too. They are written from a perspective. And that's what made this one hard to capture.
Mandating that all Americans purchase health insurance is akin to "requir[ing] every American to buy a new Chevy Impala every year," to help the automobile industry, Barnett said.
I've figured out what is wrong with Washington.
Adagio: A tempo marking indicating that the music is to be played slowly.
Is Deep Salvage a band or an album? Well, it's neither. It's a collaboration between me and my good friend Jeff Shattuck - and as I did nothing but write the words and he wrote the music and produced, we cannot really call ourselves a band. And since we are putting out a four-track disc (anyone remember EPs?) it cannot really be called an album either.
Within days, 2 African governments will try to pry open the worldwide ban on ivory trading -- a decision that could wipe out whole elephant populations and bring these magnificent animals closer to extinction.

I have had what can best be described as an on-again off-again relationship with Jango Internet Radio. At first it seemed like a great way to get my music to a broader global audience. Then it seemed too expensive to maintain the kind of frequency the task demanded. But I decided to give it six months and I'm glad I did. I learned today that for last week I was one of the top five most listened to artists.
What if you were meant to live
What if every decision you ever made
What if that one time you kept your desire in check
and didn’t sleep with that girl
...what if you were meant to
What if that relationship
based on volcanic chemistry
was never meant to happen
It was never supposed to be your cock
that unintentionally drove her to new orgasmic heights
It changed too much
It made her dream new dreams
And it ruined your expectations
What if it was not meant to be you
in that hotel in Milan
Or in that chalet on the mountainside
on the edge of the lake
Or in that dreadful room
What if you were meant to live
Is it too late
Was it always too late
Of course it is
You lived the life you lived
Only the words ask questions
Not the heart
It is what it was
It is what it is
